Abstract

This report presents a bibliometric analysis of Norwegian research in Physical sciences. The report has two sections. The first section provides a picture of the overall publication activity and the ‘visibility’of Norwegian research in a set of scientific fields considered relevant to Physical sciences compared to other countries. This section is a result of a project commissioned by the Research Council of Norway, Science and Technology Division, as a contribution to the national evaluation exercise of Norwegian physics. In the second section we present the results of a more detailed bibliometric analysis of a selected institute, the Department of Physics at the University of Oslo.
