This report reviews continuing education courses for managers and engineers in Norway. The main themes are the division of labour and the cooperation between different providers of continuing education. Special focus is given to the actual and potential role of higher education institutions.
The report was written in the auturnn, 1990, as a contribution to the OECD project "Recent Developments in Continuing Professional Education". A Norwegian summary has been added. The report is also a publication from the project "The Hidden University", in the period 1987 - 89 supported by the Norwegian Research Council for Applied Social Science (NORAS), the Ministry of Local Government and Labour, and the Adult Education Department in the Ministry of Church and Education.
